We have a brand new freezer – woohoo!

All of the behind the scenes structural, plumbing, and electrical work is done. The walls have been built and sheet rocked. The FRP (fiberglass reinforced panels) is on the kitchen walls. And yesterday, our first piece of equipment was installed – the walk-in freezer! Today, the red epoxy floor begins to be laid. Followed by the flurry of walk-in refrigerator, stove, ovens, griddle, sinks, and, and, and. . . . and then the food and us! We are anticipating a May 8 – 10 move – and we are excited!... 3241 Kerner is taking shape!!!

Underground plumbing is complete and the slab has been poured back. Rough plumbing, electrical, and IT are all in place. The walls are framed , the staircase built, and now it is time for sheetrock hanging. This photo is of our conference room – yes, we will have a dedicated separate (quiet!) place to meet with our clients! And our contractor seems to think we will be ready for a first week of May move! Stay tuned. Continue Reading

La Scuola – School Lunch Program

We are happy to announce that as of March 1st, we have the pleasure of providing school lunches for the students and faculty La Scuola – the Italian International School on Fell St. in San Francisco. This La Scuola campus currently serves grades K through 4 (and is growing by one grade per year until 8th grade is reached). Their philosophy is an inquiry-based curriculum, balanced with the Reggio Emilia Approach that lends itself to focusing on the whole child and the incorporation of... Continue Reading

Construction has begun!!!

Monday, February 16th the demolition crews arrived at 3241 Kerner and quickly got to work removing carpet, doors, walls and everything else that was slated to be demo’ed. The concrete cutters promptly followed the demo crew. They began saw-cutting and trenching the concrete slab for the plumbing for all of the floor and sink drains and sewer line. A few hiccups along the way (but what major construction project does not have hiccups) and now we are moving right along! We have selected a... Continue Reading

We’re moving!

We are pleased to announce that after 39 years in business and 32 years in this location, Delicious Catering is embarking on a new adventure – we are moving!    With the Health Department’s requirement to do some major kitchen remodeling and with an increased amount of business in the complex we currently call home, we decided to find some new digs.  So we are building a new kitchen and remodeling offices in a building on Kerner Blvd in San Rafael.  It is only... Pacific Sun – Best of Marin 2015

It’s been proven that the best form of advertising is Word of Mouth.  Do a good job for someone, and they will tell their friends.  The Pacific Sun “Best of Marin” lets us tell the whole county about which businesses are at the top of their field.  It’s Word of Mouth on a much larger scale. Show your support for the businesses of Marin County by voting in this year’s poll.  And of course, we’d love to have you vote for us too!  Simply click on the logo to start voting! Continue Reading

New Twist on a Classic Wedding Reception

Is your favorite venue booked for the next two years? Are you looking to trim expenses? Consider thinking outside the box and have your wedding on a day that others have overlooked – a Columbus Day Monday! A lot of your guests have the day off, facilities and other vendors are less expensive, and you won’t be competing with other brides and grooms to reserve all of these services because they will all be available to you. Sounds like a win win to us! Last Monday, on a gorgeous fall day, we... Continue Reading

We are proud of our garbage!

In 2013, we began a pilot program with Marin Sanitary Service where we put every single bit of food waste (raw, cooked, vegetable, meat, bread – everything!) in a garbage can that was collected weekly. Marin Sanitary Service collected this food and converted it into a biogas through anaerobic digestion. The pilot program was a huge success and now, in summer of 2014, it is in full swing! The power that is generated is used at Central Marin Sanitation Agency to pump water, run filters, and clean... Continue Reading

21 days…11 weddings…22 brides and grooms…799 guests

We catered 11 weddings in a 21-day period between the end of May and the middle of June. Three took advantage of the Memorial Day weekend, two were same sex marriages, and one was held on a Tuesday with all the guests flying in from another country. The venues ranged from intimate and elegant homes, to state parks, to classic San Francisco settings, to Marin County gardens. Different sites, unique ceremonies and a wide variety of menus and details – all with one common element… Delicious!... Continue Reading

Delicious Catering is ExtraFood.org’s Food Donor of the Week!

We are thrilled to be named ExtraFood.org’s Food Donor of the Week!  When we have extra food from an event that our client does not wish to take home, and it has been properly stored within food safety guidelines, we are able to contact ExtraFood.org and they send a volunteer to pick it up and deliver it somewhere where it is truly needed.  ExtraFood.org, established in December of 2013, has already distributed over 29,000 pounds of fresh food to nonprofit organizations that serve the... Food to Energy Program

As a green caterer, one of our goals is “zero waste”.  Thanks to a new program from Marin Sanitary Service called Food to Energy, we are closer to our goal.  For years we have been composting our produce trimmings.  Now we can set aside every single bit of food waste including dairy, meat scraps, and breads.  This waste is collected from us every week by Marin Sanitary Service and processed into methane, which is then used as a power source, and solids, which are used as soil... Landmarks Art and Garden Center, Tiburon

The morning fog gave way to a perfectly gorgeous summer day in Tiburon.  Stunning views of the San Francisco Bay Area created a beautiful back drop for a wedding celebration at the Landmarks Art and Garden Center.  An intimate ceremony was performed on the patio followed by a casual yet elegant lunch on the lawn.  The couple’s signature dessert was a Strawberry Shortcake Bar.  The guests had a fabulous time creating their customized desserts with ...
